What does the loser do?

So my kids have been completely wrapped up in this election.  Why?  Because their parents are political geeks.  Anywho Kid #1 turns to me today and asks this very poignant question.  "What happens to the loser mom?"  I guess I was kinda floored by this comment because I didn't know.  I mean what did John Kerry do after 2004?  Or whoever it was in 2000.  I felt sad for the loser I mean I can't even remember who ran in 2000.  I told her well they go back to what they were doing.  So whoever wins I will now always wonder "What does the loser do?"
